Exterior redevelopment with native lawn and grasses for a natural and uncluttered setting around the Poltronesofà store.
The landscaping project carried out at the Poltronesofà building, located on Viale delle Nazioni in Verona, stems from the need to give order, visual cleanliness and a natural aesthetic impact to the store’s outdoor area. The intervention is part of a high-traffic commercial context, where the building’s exterior image plays a crucial role in visitors’ perception of the brand.
The objective of the intervention was twofold: first, to improve the aesthetic quality of the outdoor greenery through a simple design consistent with the company’s image, and second, to use native essences and low-maintenance solutions, in line with the principles of sustainability and management cost containment.
The design included the targeted use of ornamental grasses, selected for their ability to withstand the climate of the Verona area well and for the light and dynamic appearance they give to the landscape throughout the year. The grasses were placed in orderly groups, following a logic of movement and visual depth, without obstructing the visibility of the building or interfering with access and parking areas.
A key role was also played by the laying of a native lawn, specially chosen to ensure a natural effect, balanced growth, and reduced need for watering and mowing. This type of lawn adapts perfectly to the local soil and is an environmentally friendly alternative to classic high-maintenance turf. The result is a continuous and uniform green surface that enhances the building without being invasive.
The intervention also included a soil preparation phase, with mechanical tillage to improve drainage and promote proper rooting of the plants. Quality materials and soil-friendly techniques were used, avoiding excessive use of fertilizers or chemical herbicides.
Thanks to careful planning and timely implementation, Poltronesofà’s outdoor area now presents itself as a welcoming, uncluttered space consistent with the brand’s visual identity. The surrounding greenery helps improve the perception of the store, creating a more pleasant environment for both customers and employees.
This project represents a concrete example of how it is possible to intervene in even highly urbanized commercial contexts to integrate nature, aesthetics and functionality, enhancing the space without distorting its identity. The choice of plants suited to the area, combined with a design vision oriented toward sustainability, allowed for a harmonious result that is durable and easy to manage over time.
